This is my first indoor greenhouse, but I always had bad luck planting seeds outside to get them started. Anyways, this way I now know when they come up and I can just plant them afterwards outside to maintain them. I am using watermelon seeds in the left half and carrot seeds in the right half. I was going to do peppermint seeds as well, but I think their aroma will taint the other plants. Anyways, for the money you get a pretty good deal. You get a nice plastic lid, a nice plastic small pot platform and a bottom plastic basin. The heat mat is pretty nice. It raises the air temperature 10-20 degrees. So make sure you keep it in a ventilated area during those hot summer months. For the winter months, which is it's main purpose I think, it works great. Keeps the temperature of the soil at about 80 or so degrees I think. Anyways, I recommend this. It is my first one and I think I am going to enjoy watching the growth of the seeds inside! The only bad thing is the misleading product information. I thought it came with pre-soiled cups but it did not. Either way, I didn't knock off a star just for that because I think regular dirt will work even better.
